Privacy policy

The short version

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. We don’t require an account, and we do not receive the weight, duration or activity values you enter. This site displays advertising through Google AdSense, which uses cookies to serve ads; you can control that through our cookie banner and Google’s own ad settings. We don’t sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Information you enter in the calculators (weight, age, height, duration, activity choice) is processed in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.

Information collected automatically when you visit: like virtually all websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, date and time, pages requested, referrer and user agent. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and aggregate traffic statistics.

Information you send us voluntarily if you email us at the addresses on the contact page. We use it only to answer you.

Cookies and local storage

• Local storage (not a cookie) remembers your weight, unit choices and cookie consent preference on your device. It never leaves your device and is removed if you clear your browser data.
• Cookies may be set by Google AdSense when advertising is enabled, to control and measure ads (see below). Your cookie banner choice is stored so we can respect it on future visits.

Advertising on this site is served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — and similar technologies to serve ads on this site based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Our cookie banner asks for your consent before non-essential cookies (such as advertising cookies) are used, where required — for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland.

Google Analytics

We may use privacy-focused, aggregated analytics (page views, referrers, device type) to understand what content is useful. If Google Analytics is enabled, Google Analytics cookies or identifiers may be set; you can opt out with theGoogle Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We do not use analytics to identify you personally.

Your GDPR rights (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you have the right to access, correct, erase or restrict processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to object to processing. You may withdraw consent (for example, cookie consent) at any time — clearing your browser data or adjusting your browser settings removes our local storage entries. Your California rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information. To submit a request, email the address above; we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Shared links

Results can be shared as URLs containing your inputs (for example?activity=running&weight=70&min=30). Anything you put in a shared link is up to you — share carefully.

Retention and security

Server logs are retained for a limited period (typically no more than 90 days) for security and statistics, then deleted or aggregated. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you and maintain a record of correspondence. We use industry-standard measures (HTTPS, reputable hosting) to protect data in transit.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change (for example, if new analytics or advertising partners are added). The “Last updated” date above shows when it was most recently revised. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
